Kim Roberts Named Employee Recognition Program Honoree
CARMEL, NY – Earlier this week, at a brief ceremony in the main lobby of the County Office Building, County Putnam County Executive Kevin Byrne announced that Kim Roberts of the Department of Health had been chosen as the Employee Recognition Program Honoree for 2022. Kim was chosen by a selection committee of her peers consisting of 5 union agreement covered employees. Her name was added to the Employee Recognition Plaque that hangs in the main lobby of the County Office Building year-round.
“Kim possesses an energy that is infectious and a personality that shines through in the work she does,” said County Executive Byrne. “She has a terrific reputation among her co-workers and always treats everyone with kindness and dignity.”
Over 30 individuals packed into the County Office Building lobby to celebrate Kim, who currently works as a Public Health Programs Assistant and has been a county employee since 2004.
“I’m overwhelmed with gratitude,” said Kim Roberts. “I love the work that I do, connecting with county employees, our community partners, and the residents of Putnam County. I couldn’t do this without the support of my Putnam County CSEA co-workers.”
Prior to this year, the last employee of the year was recognized in 2011 by then County Executive, and current Director of Personnel, Paul Eldridge. Following that, the program was disbanded, and the plaque removed from public sight. It was found in storage by County Clerk Michael Bartolotti earlier this year.
Byrne solicited appointments of the selection committee from County Clerk Michael Bartolotti, Sheriff Kevin McConville, Legislative Chairman Paul Jonke, and District Attorney Bob Tendy. This committee named Kim the honoree for the year 2022 and will begin accepting nominations for the 2023 honoree beginning early next year.
Byrne concluded, “our public employees are vital to the success of Putnam County as they work tirelessly to serve our residents. The Employee Recognition Program is an opportunity for us to show our appreciation for their hard work and dedication, while at the same time, highlight the importance of the work they do and the many lives they touch.”
