NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held before the Legislature of the County of Putnam in the Historic Courthouse, 44 Gleneida Ave., Carmel, New York, at 6:45 p.m. on February 7, 2023, concerning:

A LOCAL LAW

Amending in its entirety Chapter 70 of the Code of the County of Putnam entitled “Legislative Districts,” which amendment was proposed for adoption by the Putnam County Legislature on January 19, 2023, by Resolution #24.

This Local Law:

Amends the Putnam County Code by reapportioning the population of all nine districts of the Putnam County Legislature to comply with Putnam County Charter Article 14 and New York State Municipal Home Rule Law Section 10(a)(1)(13). The reapportionment creates new Legislative Districts from the town Election Districts established by the Putnam County Board of Elections, which have been updated to reflect the 2020 federal census data.

NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that at the aforesaid time and place, all persons interested in the subject matter thereof will be heard concerning same.
